What is now known as Forest Hills Farms, Inc. was established in 1955 by Don and Jean Jesse, parents of our current president, Alan Jesse. Alan started working on the farm at a young age picking berries, by age 12 he was moving irrigation pipe and driving tractor. After attending Oregon State University Alan returned to the family farm where he helped with its’ incorporation in 1978. By this point the farm had expanded to 600 acres and production included beans, corn, wheat, strawberries, and blackberries. Don and Alan co-managed the farm through 1996 when Alan took over as sole president. With the help of his wife Mary as CFO, as well as a team of hard-working, talented employees, the farm has grown to 2000 acres and continues to grow in diversity. The farm has been GlobalG.A.P. certified since 2014—just one of the many ways its’ stayed true its commitment to environmental stewardship and production of quality products. The tradition of family continues today with Alan as the CEO, Mary as CFO, their daughter Anna in the role of Resource Development Manager, and their daughter Katharine helping with everything from running the combine to general bookkeeping whenever she has a break from her accounting and finance studies at Oregon State University.
